Mark(David Noval) es un cineasta aparentemente condenado a ser un mero observador de la vida de los otros, luchando por adquirir un equilibrio entre lo artístico y lo comercial. Vive con su mejor amigo Roger (Joaquín Gómez), un músico frustrado; cerrado emocionalmente tras el suicidio de su novia portadora de HIV y cuya única aspiración es la de componer una “gran canción” antes de morir de Sida. Hasta que aparece Mimí(Barbie Zúñiga), una bailarina exótica adicta a la heroína.Collins (Ian Fernández), profesor de filosofía y activista, también va a conocer el amor de la mano de Ángel (Gonzalo Pradas y Charlie Bertoni), un travesti lleno de vida.
Mientras tanto, Maureen (Sol Gómez), ex novia de Mark, liberal artista de performance encabeza una cruzada por los “sin techo” junto a su nueva pareja, una correcta y flamante abogada, Joanne (Marina Cofré y Sofía Canali).
Por otra parte, Benny (Cristian Villablanca y Sandro Peschillo), quien integraba el grupo de amigos, hasta que se casó con una chica de la alta sociedad, es ahora dueño del edificio donde viven y pretende desalojarlos por no pagar el alquiler, rompiendo la promesa de dejarle a sus bohemios amigos un espacio artístico.
La obra expone la incomunicación y materialismo reinantes en la sociedad en donde uno parece ser sólo lo que tiene y hace. Manifiesta la diversidad sexual en todos sus aspectos y el prejuicio subyugado por la humanidad ante tal fenómeno.
Finalmente, da un mensaje de esperanza, amor, éxito, aceptación y la necesidad de conectarse con el otro… porque, “La vida es hoy”.
