El documental cuenta la experiencia de la inmigración de mujeres italianas a Villa Regina. El rodaje se realizó de manera integral en la sala principal del Teatro Círculo Italiano. Para ello, se convocó a ocho mujeres de nacionalidad italiana, radicadas en la zona, representativas de las distintas regiones de la geografía italiana, para que pudieran dar cuenta de sus experiencias particulares sobre la inmigración.
El documental ilustra el fenómeno migratorio a través de historias individuales, familiares y comunitarias, considerando la posibilidad de moverse hacia el interior de un tema amplio y rico en diversas facetas: los motivos de la partida, el viaje, los trabajos, la emigración femenina, la comunidad italiana en el exterior, la integración, los encuentros y los desencuentros culturales.
Las mujeres entrevistadas son: Rosaria Traina (Sicilia), Silvana Pizzolato (Veneto), Rosa Pizzolato (Veneto), Edda Collino (Friuli), Serafina Ventura (Le Marche), Elvira Naso (Calabria), Maria Lippolis (Puglia) y Bruna Foppiani (Emilia Romagna).
Este documental ha sido declarado de interés porla Legislaturadela Provinciade Río Negro. El Ministerio de Relaciones Internacionales y Culto, por su parte, declaró de alto interés artístico y cultural este documental.
